IDEAL's capacities include up to 40,000 KW / 50,000 HP, voltages up to 15 kV, 2 to 160 Poles, fixed, variable speed and frequency and more!

IDEAL consists of two 500,000+ square feet factories located in Mansfield, Ohio and Houston, Texas which allows for flexibility in workloads and utilization of multiple resources in different areas of the U.S.

IDEAL uses an insulation system based on a global Vacuum Pressure Impregnation (VPI) method using mica tapes combined with epoxy resin. Global VPI is a widely used insulation method in the electric machine manufacturing industry. Ideal uses epoxy resins in the VPI process since they are superior to other VPI resin types. This insulation system is employed over the full range of form wound machines produced at our Ohio Works.

Ideal Electric is more committed than ever to protect your investment. We have the capability to repair or upgrade any machine which, along with our testing facility, guarantees that you can get up and running faster and more efficiently than ever before.

We support not only IDEAL but also all other machinery brands. As an O.E.M. ourselves, we are not just a repair job shop. IDEAL re-manufactures all brands and offers factory-engineered upgrades for every O.E.M. generator, motor, or component.

We didn’t have to build your machine to know how to replace it. After all, IDEAL ELECTRIC knows machines better than anyone in the industry. Our talented engineers use this knowledge to help replace legacy machines with higher-efficiency, rugged IDEAL models that are built to last.

Access to our Ohio Works Test Center & Observatory and Control Rooms provides secure witness testing capabilities.

IDEAL ELECTRIC's Fermat WRF 160 CNC Horizontal Milling and Boring Machine

Our shafts are forged 1040 or 4140 series steel. Standard extensions are straight, with a keyway for attaching a coupling. Flanged shafts are a direct connection, and long shaft extensions can be provided if the application requires. The rotor spiders are either laminated sheet steel, fabricated A36 steel, or high-strength steel plates, depending on turbine operating and overspeed requirements.

Each test bedplate has a weight exceeding one million pounds, insuring our capability to meet and exceed the stringent industry vibration criteria for massive, rigid mounting per API (0.02 ips maximum).
